(The Study of Sin)

What is humanity’s present Moral and Ethical Condition?
1. Sinful (Ezek.18:4, Rom. 3:10, Rom. 3:23, Eccl. 7:20) sin violates the Holiness of God and His divine Law. Therefore, justice must be required. Jewish concept of Sin.

2. Fall of Man / Original Sin (Genesis 3)

3. Moral Depravity / Total Depravity / Distorted, or Wounded? Calvinism teaches the "Total Depravity" of humanity as a result of original sin as part of the 5 Tenants of T.U.L.I.P.. Other theologies teach that humanity has become distorted or wounded as a result of sin and that we are in need of being “spiritually healed” (Isa.53:3-5).

4. Law - 613 / Tutor (Gal.3:24) if humanity is unable to obey God, then what use was the Law of God? To lead humanity to Christ.

12. Tested (I Pet. 1:7) A person can be tested without being tempted to sin. A test confirms what is known / learned and reveals what is not know / learned. It also has the ability to test character and to help develop it. Jesus was tested not tempted.

13. Lust / Covet (James 1:13-15) used interchangeably to describe an inordinate desire to possess things or people which inevitable leads away from God and His will.

14. Flesh / Carnal a term used in (Rom.7:18) referring to the sinful part of us wherein lies sinful desires.

15. Heart of Man (Gen.6:5, Rom.10:9,10, I Cor. 2:9) considered to be the seat of decision making. It also can be deceitful and hardened.
