5. Scientology
What are its key dogmas?
Originator: L. Ron Hubbard
in the 1950’s was a science fiction writer.
Writings: Dianetics the modern science of mental
health.
Distinctives: One’s problems
are caused by pre-natal experiences. Their goal is to become “clear”
through a system called “auditing” guided by a counselor.
Through the use of a devise called an “e-meter” in order
to get rid of “emgrams” stored in your “reactive
mind” as a result of previous pre-natal experiences which
can be contacted and erased through 8 grades of clearness. This
is why a "silent birth" when a baby is being delivered
is important, as well as no use of drugs.
We are all “Thetans” or immortal spirits
that find bodies to inhabit. Man is basically good. Whether God
exists or not is irrelevant. Mankind is able to solve all of their
problems.
