About Faith United Methodist Church of Goshen, IN
Who are we?
The Faith United Methodist Church consists of persons of all ages from diversified backgrounds and occupations. We emphasize being the "Faith Family" because of the strong family spirit which is present during our worship services. If you are looking for a church, then we are looking for you!
The Growing Years:
The Faith United Methodist Church became a reality in April of 1993 with the uniting of four churches; Castle, Grace, Good Shepherd, and Simpson United Methodist Churches. This step of Faith created Faith United Methodist Church.
Denomination Connection:
Faith United Methodist Church is a part of the United Methodist denomination. We assume our responsibility to understand our church's foundational teachings through the scriptures, reason, experience, and tradition. The Faith United Methodist Church held their inaugural service in the new building on September 15th, 1996 with 882 in attendance. The building dedication was held on November 17th, with Bishop Woodie White leading the consecration service.
Where Faith UMC is going:
The Faith United Methodist Church is an exciting and growing ministry in the Michiana area with many people feeling a new touch of God's love. We come together with an attitude of expectation and anticipation to be encouraged in our faith and to enjoy the fellowship and ministry of our church family through the Holy Spirit.
Our Mission Statement:
Faith Church exists to empower believers to discover their ministry within the church, and their mission outside of the church to impact the Kingdom of God.
Our Basic Beliefs:
- There is only one true God who is creator of all.
- Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, was born of a virgin, crucified on a cross, experienced death, and rose from the dead.
- The Holy Spirit is God’s presence within us to lead, comfort, and empower us for ministry.
- Salvation is God’s free gift of grace given to all who receive Jesus as Savior.
- The Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God.
- The Church’s mission is to go and make disciples for Jesus Christ.
